Certified Health & Well-Being Coach

Sarah De Felice

I help people to finally be able to feel like they have a healthy lifestyle and reduce the guilt or shame that they aren’t living well.  I like working with busy people who want to regulate their lives but don’t feel that they have enough time. My clients are usually looking to improve their diet, fitness, and meditation practices.

They want to lose weight, have energy, and feel happy. The techniques I use are scientifically proven to promote behavioral change. The process is non-confrontational, and I work WITH you as a partner to support your journey. I do not force you to do things you don’t want. I make hard things easier.

What is Health & Well-Being Coaching for?

Anything you want to change.

Have you ever been told by the doctor that you needed to move more, eat better, or meditate? You fully intended to do it, even knew what to do, WANTED to do it, but were not able to make it a habit? Even with the best intentions, behavior change can be hard by yourself. Health and well-being coaching is the bridge between the doctor’s orders and doing them.

Imagine starting a new exercise plan and this time STICKING with it.

Imagine starting a new diet and this time being able to EAT RIGHT for as long as you want.

Imagine trying to start a meditation routine and this time you manage to SIT every day instead of giving up or allowing it to be one of those things you’ll do SOME day.

Some day is today.

Online EFT Tapping Sessions

Inner Reconciliation Energy Techniques (IRET) tapping sessions are online meetings with me as a certified meridian tapping facilitator to tap on specific acupressure points to alleviate emotional distress and promote overall well-being.

This technique specializes in reconciling conflicting energies that leave us ambivalent about accomplishing our goals. It is an excellent complement to health coaching to break down mental barriers.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

It is a unique conversation that you’ve probably never had before. It allows you to create your own vision for your future, define what you care about most, assess your current health, explore your readiness for change, create a realistic goal, and start taking action. It provides you with the foundation for change and sets you up for success.

The average time that doctors listen to patient concerns is only 11 seconds before they are interrupted. Health coaching is an opportunity to be completely heard about all the mental/emotional/physical health issues that a doctor does not have time for.

Health and well-being coaches are behavior changers that are knowledgeable about health and well-being. I am trained to develop a partnership and facilitate the change process while using special skills that create meaningful and effective coaching sessions.

There has been much evidence found by research that health coaching is more effective at changing behavior than trying to change alone. At least one study has found that health coaching significantly improved blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose (blood sugar), triglycerides (blood fat), body weight, and cardiovascular fitness.

Health and well-being coaching is similar to many other types for services but different.

It is not personal training, mental health counseling, medical consulting, health education, or nutritional consulting.

It is similar to personal training in that we may discuss exercise plans and fitness strategies. You may ask me for further resources and my knowledge on the topic. In that case I will share only what you request. It is different from personal training in that I will not decide what exercise you should do or create a plan for you. You choose what you want to do and how often you want to do it.

It is not mental health counseling. We may talk about how you are feeling and mental barriers surrounding your vision for the future. We may address your mental/emotional improvement goals with coping strategies and treatment that you choose. I listen with empathy and provide a supportive space for you to explore yourself and do not apply therapy or treatment as a licensed counselor would. A health coach helps you implement your treatment plans, not make them.

It is not medical consulting. I listen to your health concerns to help you develop insights to build your vision, find your values, and develop motivation towards your goals. I do not tell you what you should or should not do. I am not qualified to give medical advice. A health coach has extensive knowledge of health and wellness in general, but it is not their place to tell you what to do with the knowledge.

It is not health education. I will provide you with information occasionally that you request and pertains to your focus. It is not the role of the health coach to be an expert in health and the client taking the role of student. Health coaching is a partnership. I am not the expert of your life, YOU are.

It is not nutritional consulting. We may talk about eating healthier and share information about nutrition. I am not a registered dietitian and will not make diet plans for you.

I do not tell you to do anything, challenge, or push you. The magic of health coaching is that it shows you that you have the power to change your life. You are in control.

The health coaching experience with me includes a mindful meditation at the beginning of each session to actively and gently train your mind to break habits. We will explore your concerns, build your vision, and focus on one goal at a time to positively change your life. After you implement the action steps that you choose, I support you by listening to your experience, address lessons learned, provide accountability, and help you decide what actions to take next toward your goal.

Health coaching focuses on empowering individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes, while traditional healthcare often addresses specific medical conditions. Coaches work holistically to improve overall well-being, whereas healthcare professionals may primarily treat symptoms or illnesses.

Health coaches can assist with various issues such as weight management, stress reduction, fitness, nutrition, sleep improvement, quitting smoking, and the development of healthy habits.

No, health and well-being coaching can be tailored to individual needs. Whether you have a specific goal or simply want to improve your overall lifestyle, a coach can help you define and work towards your objectives.

EFT is a healing modality that uses somatic and cognitive elements to rewire neural pathways and reduce emotional intensity. Similar to EMDR therapy, it is effective to treat a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, phobias, trauma, pain management, and limiting beliefs. It’s also used to enhance performance and improve overall well-being.

While there may be some overlap in their focus areas, life coaches and wellness coaches typically specialize in different aspects of personal development and well-being.

  1. Life Coach: Life coaches work with clients to help them clarify their goals, overcome obstacles, and make positive changes in various areas of their lives. They may address career, relationships, personal growth, time management, and other aspects of life. Life coaches often use techniques such as goal-setting, action planning, and accountability to support their clients in achieving their desired outcomes.

  2. Wellness Coach: Wellness coaches focus specifically on helping clients improve their overall health and well-being. They may assist with areas such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep habits, and emotional well-being. Wellness coaches often take a holistic approach, considering the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional health. They may provide guidance on creating healthy habits, setting realistic wellness goals, and implementing sustainable lifestyle changes.
